We are holding a Harvest Festival church parade on Sunday, 6th Oct at St Michael & All Angels, Pond Road, SE3 9JL.

This is for all our beavers, cubs and scouts from the St Michael's, St Germans' and St James's meeting places. Please arrive by 10:15am (the leaders will there from 10:00) so that we can have flags and the like sorted out in time for the service at 10:30pm.

A nice smart uniform and a Harvest gift would be good, please. They do not want fresh produce but there is a list of suggestions at the bottom of this page.

The leaders hope to see you there even if you normally go to another church. We only have one or two parade services each term and it is good to see as many as possible, please.

Parents and family are welcome to stay for the service as well.

The service will last about an hour and there is a hot drink or squash after in the halls.

Here is the list of things that we are collecting for London City Mission:

London City Mission in Webber Street relies on donations of long life, non-perishable food items to provide for the breakfasts they serve to their guests. They also need clothes and toiletries especially as we approach another long winter. They would be very grateful for the following Harvest gifts:

Food:  Baked beans; Tinned Tomatoes & Spaghetti Hoops; Granulated sugar; Brown Sauce and ketchup (no glass bottles); Cordial – Squash; Instant coffee; Salt and pepper (small shakers for tables); Tinned Tuna; Tinned Fruit; Baking Ingredients.

Clothing: Socks; Underpants; T-shirts; Shirts; Trainers (no suit shoes); Jeans (mostly 32/34/36 waist); Tracksuit bottoms; Hooded tops; Sweatshirts; Waterproof jackets; Casual jackets; Winter coats; Belts; Ladies knickers. Please note we don’t need suits.

Other items: Razors; Bars of soap; Shower gel; Shampoo; Sleeping bags; Toothbrushes (but not toothpaste); Shaving foam; Rucksacks.

Thank you very much.
